    • 3 additional sessions of workshops including lunch
    • Saturday keynote artist Peter Morin

Call for Presenters

If you are interested in hosting a workshop at the 2023 Art & Soul Conference in October, please fill out the call for presenter form: 2023 Call for Presenters

Submission deadline is September 1st, 2023.

If your presentation is chosen, you will be notified by September 30, 2023.

We encourage you to think through stories, traditions, arts, media, mediums, lessons for elementary, middle years and secondary workshops, that contribute to the themes of connection, compassion and community in classrooms, communities and in our world. As part of our efforts to ensure LBTQ2+ and BIPOC communities are included in our conversations about art education, we would like to extend an invitation and encourage proposals that contribute to a lens of equity and diversity. Proposals that include accessible consideration will be prioritized. If there is any way we can support you in these proposals please let us know.

Sessions will be scheduled in 75 minute modules on Friday and 2 hr modules on Saturday. The focus of the Saturday workshops will be hands on studio based only. Studio workshops are also encouraged on Friday.

*All delegates, including presenters, must register and pay the conference fee. Potential presenters must either join or renew their BCATA membership or subscription, or present proof of membership valid through October 2023.

The BCATA is a non-profit organization run by volunteers to support children and art education through advocacy, publication of teaching resources and the organization of professional development experiences. When conference profits are realized, they sustain the work of the BCATA. The BCATA offers presenters an honorarium. Members can choose to receive a $150 honorarium.  Presenters offering two different workshops, submit a separate proposal form for each session. Each session receives an honorarium.
