2025 BCATA Conference
We are pleased to once again host the BCATA Conference at the University of British Columbia.
October 24 & 25, 2025

“Weaving Community Through Art” is the theme for the upcoming BCATA conference this October, 2025.
While “weaving” is used metaphorically to represent the interconnectedness of our artistic community, attendees can look forward to an inspiring lineup with a dynamic keynote speaker, workshops, and presentations spanning the full spectrum of Arts education. (And yes—there may even be actual weaving workshops, so stay tuned!)
The BCATA is excited to announce Dana Claxton, renowned artist and Arts Educator, as the keynote speaker for our next “Weaving Community Through Art” conference.
Dana Claxton is a critically acclaimed artist who works with film, video, photography, single/multi- channel video installation, and performance art. Her practice investigates indigenous beauty, the body, the socio-political and the spiritual. Her work has been shown at the Museum of Modern Art (NYC), Metropolitan Museum of Art (NYC), Walker Art Centre (Minneapolis, MN), Sundance Film Festival, Salt Lake City (UT), Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art…

- Register for BCATA Conference 2025- Weaving Community Through Art
- Using a computer rather than your phone makes the registration process the easiest.
- On the conference registration form itself, in order to select “Early Bird”, please click on the “Regular Fee” first, and then go back to select “Early Bird”. (Thomas has attempted to repair this, but nothing seems to work. Hopefully this one-sentence direction will enable registrants to solve this glitch.)
- If you are a presenter, please have the presenter code ready to insert in the form in order to have your registration waived. (We have discovered that leaving the form and coming back to it later causes some confusion on my spreadsheet.)
- On the payment page, be sure to click “Canada” at the top of the “Billing Address” so you can list your province and postal code (rather than state and zip code).
- Be sure to click the final check box on the payment page (“I confirm that I am of legal age and agree to the PayPal Privacy Statement.”)
- Thanks everyone!
Share your magic at the next BCATA conference!

We’ll review your pitch and get back to you as soon as possible. As the conference date approaches, we’ll also be reaching out for additional workshop proposals.
Thank you to CSEA for helping the us at the BCATA to create a safe and reliable registration venue for the 2025 conference.
